Josh Norman has had his franchise tag removed by the Carolina Panthers. In 2015 Norman had 4 interceptions ,two of which were returned for touchdowns, and three forced fumbles. After a fantastic season,  many consider him to be one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Sources close to the situation cited the two sides’ inability to negotiate a new contract extension as the main reason for the termination of the franchise tag.

Josh Norman has established himself as one of the best defensive backs in the game.  Given how much he is asking for his wallet also shares this sentiment. Norman will be going out to find a team who is willing to pay him a salary comparable to the best players at the cornerback position. Given the number of teams who would greatly benefit from the signing of a lock down cornerback, I would be shocked if he was not signed relatively quickly. We’ll be providing you with more details as this story continues to develop.
